Crowd source funding is a powerful tool to any filmmaker or entrepreneurs. With the use of the internet entrepreneurs can gain funding and market their product easily. To successfully sell an idea or video is is important to know your target audience.
A good example of knowing a target audience is the Exploding Kittens (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/elanlee/exploding-kittens) card game which has raised nearly 5 million in crowd source funding. This products has done so well because they offer special rewards for donators and by using cats they have tapped into an internet phenomenon.

4DX is the new phenomena within the cinema viewing experience. There are moving seats, water spray and scents. But will this be a gimmick as 3D has proven to be. I think this will be a gimmick and mirrors Universal Studios in Florida which makes a show exciting but arguably brings the audience out of immersion.
I think that moving chairs is a good idea for racing scenes or the new Star Wars but I also think the water and scent will ruin immersion. But without thinking of immersion the 4DX will create an enriching shared experience and as that is what the cinema is acclaimed for 4DX may be a step in an interesting direction. I think that 4D will be saved for epic action films and may lose revenue, as it would be a quarantined market. I can't imagine dramas or films such as Schindler's List being shown in a 4DX setting. But I can see the potential for comedy’s and horror as the chairs can jolt or spray water for comedic affect or to make the audience literally jump. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/introducing-uks-first-4d-cinema-4994064 Internet Shopping

The WWW and the interaction of companies allowing consumers to purchase products without leaving there own homes have positive and negative ramifications.
For example by having goods online allows the consumer to comfortable brows in a stress free environment and have goods delivered to them. This is especially positive for disabled consumers. It also allows the user to brows a larger range of products which would be unable to be stored in a shop down to size. Consumers can also brows and purchase goods from overseas. But on the down side this may inevitably create an unhealthy nation who relies on survival through the internet. If there was a power cut then they would feel ostracised from society. Obesity would become a problem. Although the consumer would not be enticed by the smell or advertising in store they would be targeted through the internet with constant product placement of unhealthy items. But I think that internet shopping is a good thing because of the accessible range of products I can buy and research. When I purchase an expensive product e.g. a watch, I will research the product intently and spend hours looking for one that sticks out. I will also look for video reviews so that I can make a final decision and be sure that I want the product. Online video reviews are common place and are enhanced by professional videographers to make the product look better. But by having reviews and videos about the product will entice the consumer to purchase it as they believe that it will look/ work that good in real life. For example Argos creates product videos and put them online to entice consumers. They do this because they have worked out that a customer is 20% more likely to purchase a product if it has a video. Although the videos do show the product working, it is on a set which makes the product looks better than reality and with the addition on colour enhancement the product is a shadow of reality. The internet is a powerful advertising tool which is shown in the advertising companies of True Blood and The Blair Witch Project which causes phenomenon’s with online advertising. The fact that YouTube, Channel four on demand and 5 on demand are showing longer and longer un-skippable adverts shows that companies are desperately trying to connect with an audience. This is also a sad time for the internet as adverts spread like a virus and infect us with tedium and boredom. Overall I think that sales will rise through the internet which will overall cause closure of 60% of touchable stores and cause the increase of online adverts which perceive products in their best light. Technology Causality

The World Wide Web has absorbed all first world civilizations in the last decade to the extent that people are lost without it. For example have you ever lost your phone and have found yourself not knowing what to do when waiting for a bus etc. Everyone can instantly find information with search engines which are arguably making the human race smarter or less intelligent.
For example the fact that we can instantly find information which we request can make information consumption faster. And the fact that there is a plethora of different information easily available on the internet makes us all more diverse in the facts we know compared with older generations who may not be given information pertaining outside of Europe. But the inherently search engines also throw out the theory that information is so accessible that its worth is lowered therefore causing us to forget most of the knowledge we access through the WWW. Additionally the information online may be un-reliable and cause people to have miss-information. There is also a wide range of celebrity gossip and "pointless information" which masses of young adults gorge themselves on, making them knowledgeable with worthless trivia. Another example on technology making the human race less intelligent is with Microsoft word which corrects spelling. This act is arguably making generations uninterested and unable to spell properly as they can have perfect grammar and spelling at the click of a button. It is how we use the tools we are given and not the tools themselves as I am sure the future will tell us as our mollycoddled teenagers are useless adults. |
